Organic Cinnamon Extract for Baking, Drinks & More

I ordered this for baking and adding to drinks. This extract is very concentrated and has a strong cinnamon flavor. You only need few drops to give cinnamon flavor to your drink, and about 1/2 tsp. to 1 tsp. when baking (depending on how strong you like your cinnamon flavor).
I always like to taste food ingredients pure before using them. Helps me gauge the flavor. Since this is an alcohol extract, tasting it pure has a very strong alcohol flavor and burn to it. This disappears once you dissolve it in a drink or when cooking, but you should be careful how much you put unless you want to spike your drink.
The bottle is not very large, but since the extract it very concentrated, it goes a long way. I keep the bottle in the fridge for freshness.
I wish the bottle came with a dropper. This would make using it much easier, especially in drinks. It would also be helpful for the label on the bottle to provide some kind of measurement (e.g. 1/4 tsp. of extract equals 1 tsp. of powdered cinnamon or something like that). This would make it easier to calculate how much extract you need when following a recipe that asks for powdered cinnamon. The bottle provides only directions to start with about 1 tsp. and adjust, but it is not clear how this 1 tsp. compares to dry cinnamon use.

Harvest Moon has now become my go to extract brand. This cinnamon extract did not disappoint at all. It is high quality extract that performs very well in baked goods and candies both. Excellent value product. High quality.

I did a taste test with this while making pumpkin bread/muffins. I made mini muffins with normal real ground cinnamon, half and half Saigon and Ceylon varieties of cinnamon, and other mini muffins that I kept separate I made instead with this cinnamon extract. The batters smelled and tasted distinctly different. The one with the extract tasted good, but definitely a little different. After baking, to my surprise they tasted so similar I wouldn't notice a difference.

I liked the smell and taste of this better than another cinnamon extract I had tried which tasted like red hots cinnamon candy. This one doesn't taste so much like that. Both extracts claimed to be natural but this one tastes more natural.

Obviously, it's more efficient virtually all the time to use real ground cinnamon to flavor food. But there are times when you specifically want an extract, and this won't add flecks or texture to frosting, ice cream, or candy.

This doesn't come with a dropper. It's a nice glass bottle though.

Cinnamon extract smells great unless you do not like cinnamon. The extract comes in a two ounce amber bottle. Cinnamon extract an be used in baking, making drinks and other home remedies. Compared to the extract purchased in stores, this bottle is comparable in size if not larger than mass marketed brands. This Cinnamon extract provides an opportunity for your cooking creativity to flourish.

This is kind of a hot cinnamon flavor. We have a bunch of extracts by this brand, and they are all very nice. They do have a little bit of flavor of the alcohol or whatever base they use, but most of the flavors are spot on (except for their cotton candy one). This one is no exception. It has a very nice, strong cinnamon flavor.

The only issue we have with these extracts from this company is that the bottles are difficult to pour from. It tends to run down the sides due to the thick glass and no spout. I suggest using a dropper or some other method of dispensing the amount of extract you need. Pouring seems to waste a lot, since it runs down the side.

This cinnamon flavor is not too strong or too light. It has a really balanced taste that works perfectly in recipes without overpowering everything else.

I really like that it is water soluble because I have cookie recipes that require water soluble ingredients instead of oil-based ones. It blended well and was easy to work with.

Another thing I appreciate is how natural the ingredients are. It is also gluten free, which makes it even better for different dietary needs.

Harvest moon has another quality extract with this cinnamon extract. The flavor is warm and sweet. The extract is also nice and strong - I only need about 1/4 of a teaspoon to strongly flavor a large sized iced almond milk latte.

I like to flavor my coffees with extracts over flavoring syrups so I can get all of the taste and flavor without any of the sugar. I do regularly add cinnamon powder, but it doesn’t give it the same taste as a latte made with a cinnamon syrup. Thats where this extract comes in. It mixes easily into drinks and gives a nice even cinnamon taste throughout the entire drink. You can also use this to punch up cinnamon flavor in a scone or a spice cake.

It comes in a sealed glass bottle that is amber color to help preserve the strength of the extract. It is made in the USA and does come quality-sealed. Given how strong the extract is, I think this is an excellent value as this will make a good many coffees.

I really like the flavor of this organic cinnamon extract. It doesn't contain a lot of artificial ingredients, and the flavor can be a nice addition to a variety of tasty treats. The extract is certified organic by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and it only contains four ingredients, organic alcohol, water, natural flavoring and organic cinnamon. The extract contains zero fat, sodium or sugars, which is definitely a plus. The glass bottle contains 12 teaspoon sized servings, which might not sound like a lot. But a little goes a long way.

I made two different recipes with the cinnamon extract. First, I made a non-alcoholic Rum Chata. The recipe is simple and quick using dairy milk (2%), the cinnamon extract, a little honey and small amount of coconut skim milk over ice. The cinnamon extract blended well, and it combined to make a refreshing and sweet drink. I also used the extract to make a cinnamon glaze that I poured over homemade lemon cake, which really enhanced the flavor of the cake. The extract mixed well and had a pleasant aroma.

Overall, I found the Harvest Moon Delights Organic Cinnamon Extract to be a useful addition to my pantry and it's reasonably priced given the quality.

It's made in the US, which is good for a few reasons.

I love cinnamon and like to put it in baked goods and coffee creamer but the powder cinnamons that are readily available often give me a skin reaction. It's probably due to the type of cinnamon and where it came from. I was hoping that since this was organic and an extract, that I would have better luck. I also know this company has excellent quality extracts, so I was optimistic. I am so happy I tried it, because I have no issues with it and it is DELICIOUS. It tastes great in coffees, teas and baked sweet bread. I got a dropper to use with the bottle as I like to closely control how much I am using. I only need a drop or two for my needs so this bottle will last me a while. I am very pleased with the taste and quality. The price is a good value considering the excellent quality and versatility of the extract.
