This is an excellent quality anise extract that comes in a pretty big bottle (see pic next to dollar bill). The flavor is perfect for what I am using it for - a mixology concept that usually uses absinthe as a component. Great price for a great product.
Harvest Moon delights organic anise extract, in a 2 fl oz jar is pure and natural . The bottle contians 12 -1 teaspoon servings. It is made of organic alcohol, water, and organic oil of anise, it is water soluble , gluten free, heat stable and a product of USA. I quailty tasting anise extract, very versitle. It has a nice mild flavor, I have been adding to homemade ice cream and I am really liking this flavor. Next im going to try anise spiced cookies. A quailty extract.

Harvest Moon Organic Anise Extract
This is a quality extract packaged in a glass bottle and carefully boxed and expiration dated. Gently shake and pour into your measure to use - it is wonderful for baking and I use it in traditional pizzelle cookies. Anise is a wonderful unique flavor that many people love and it also is attributed to many health benefits so can use in those preparations as well as in foods. I find this superior to widely available commercial extracts and if you care about the quality of your food as well as taste recommend highly seeking out pure organic extracts as this.
High quality extract that adds just the right boost o my anise biscotti. I include anise seeds in the biscotti, but to really give it a good flavor I like to crush some of the seeds. It’s time consuming and that’s where a quality extra comes in. This matches the favor of the seeds perfectly and only takes an eighth to a quarter of a teaspoon to get the flavor strength I am looking for. The extract is clear, but is in an amber colored bottle to keep its strength. I ordered in march 2025 and it came with a best before date of August 2026. I appreciate that it is made in the US and certified organic. An easy five stars.
We love our pizzelles and make our own at home. We make different flavors but the anise is my favorite. Just a note that I do not like black licorice but I do like anise in cooked and baked goods. So even if you do not like the candy, you may like the extract.

The flavor is excellent. My use case was for anise anginetti. My wife and I agree that the quality is noticeably better than McCormick, the latter of which is not bad, but it is just a little harsh. In contrast, I would describe this extract as much more mellow, but still prominent. I used the same amount I normally would in the recipe and was very happy with the finished product.
It was hard to find anywhere so I was glad to find it to make our traditional Italian pizzelle cookies. Anise is a must!

Excellent for baking cookies! I can never find fresh anise seeds, the flavor has deteriorated...the extract is flavorful, you get the great taste of anise in each cookie. Love it.

The bottle is quite small for the price that I paid. I haven't use it yet so I can't rate the quality of the anise.

Yummy! I love making my family's traditional Swiss cookies with ground Anise, but it is difficult to find and work with. This was the perfect substitute for- dare I say they taste even better?!

Love their extracts, however, with these particular flavors a little goes a long way and it’s difficult to control that with a pour from these bottles. I wish there was a dropper included. They spill everywhere and I end up adding too much or too little or wasting a bunch.

Didn't use it yet but smelled good
It's good. I also got Licorice and this is much more potent for taste. I add it to my daily hydration with stevia powder for sweetening. I'm very "high" on Stevia Powder.
Whew, this is strong. We used it to make some candies and this extract tastes as strong as it smells. The first time I used it, I had to add more of my other ingredients to balance it out because I didn’t expect it to be so bold. It turned out really good and it’s perfect if you like licorice.

Nice licorice scent! Added to cookies and could probably be used for other baked goods. Easy to use with nice flavor.
Harvest Moon makes a lot of great flavorings and this is no exception. The anise flavor this gives is candy-like and really bold. Even 1 drop tends to be enough for my tea to give me the flavor I like in it. In cookies I used a bit less than the recipe asked for and it still was a tasty bold anise flavor.
Because of how bold it is, the value for money is even better than you'd realize - you can use less and still get the flavor you want.
This is yet another quality product from Harvest Moon. It smells good, it tastes good, and I am certain candy makers would love this for making up their own Liquorice varietes.
The anise extract came with no leaks or oozing and was well sealed. The cap feels secure but isn't difficult to remove and replace. I like the dark glass bottle, but it can be a little challenging to check the level left in the bottle (I check by weight instead). It has a fresh scent and a good level of anise taste (not too weak).
