I have read all of the reviews for this product. Many who don't like it have only used it in a drink of some sort, not in baking. Well I have actually baked 3 banana breads so far with this. My recipe uses two cups of mashed bananas and I worked my up to 2 teaspoons of this extract starting out with one as a test.
I can definitely tell it is there and I think it enhances my banana bread. But with anything it is all a matter of individual preferences.
So often when I have made banana bread before using this product, the banana flavor always seemed lacking. And I let my bananas get fully ripe with brown spots.
I looked at other extracts but this seemed the most natural to me.
I like this addition to my baking!
FYI, I use light muscavado sugar and add Australian crystallized ginger and Valrhona chocolate chunks. In case anyone is interested the flours are 3 parts King Arthur AP and 1 part ww pastry flour mixed with 2 T rye for a total of 2 cups per loaf.
I absolutely love this Natural Banana Extract! It smells and tastes like the banana laffy taffies, so it just tastes incredible. The bottle is a good size and truly 2 ounces, but a little definitely goes a long way. It’s super potent, so accidentally putting even half a drop too much will feel like too much. You can use a teaspoon for this, but I found using a dropper works so much better. For drinks, 1-2 drops is more than enough, although 2 for me personally was a lot. For baking, I use slightly less extract than the recipe calls for, and add more if needed. It mixes really well into both drinks like coffee and for baked goods! It doesn’t add any sugar, so you could even make your own creamer flavors with this. This is priced really fair at $15, and I would definitely purchase this again once (if, haha!) I run out
I love anything banana, and banana bread is one of my all-time favorite foods. Winter is always a tough time for me, because winter bananas aren't as flavorful as summer bananas, so my banana bread turns out less delicious. I was hoping this natural banana extract would help, and I was not disappointed.
I love that this extract is made with organic bananas and that it's manufactured in the USA. I added just a teaspoon of it to my banana chocolate bread batter, and it made a huge difference. Despite the competing chocolate flavor, the bread had a rich, intense banana flavor and aroma. The raw extract has a bit of an alcoholic smell, and I was worried that would carry over into the bread, but it disappeared completely during the baking process. So I've solved my winter banana bread problem, and I am looking forward to trying this extract in some of my other banana concoctions. I bet it will be great in banana milk, banana yoghurt, banana pancakes, banana oatmeal, and banana ice cream.
I used this extract to ramp up the flavor in my macadamia nut banana bread a bit more; I love banana flavored everything! I added a teaspoon of this to my bread recipe along with some vanilla extract and it was a wonderful way to up the flavor a bit without adding a bunch of extra calories; along with keeping my bread perfectly cooked without getting all mushy from adding too many bananas. The extract is also colorless, so it doesn't colorize what you're baking/making. Overall, it's a very nice extract for the value and a handy staple in the kitchen with the rest of my extracts.
I love bananas and banana flavor and recently ran out of what I had. Since I have gotten a few flavorings from this company and have been very impressed with almost all of them, I knew this one would not disappoint. I was right. This flavoring is amazing and is one to one with vanilla extract so sub this for vanilla in all sorts of recipes. Cookies, cake, pudding, frosting, you name it. I love that this is not artificially flavored and is well priced. If you like banana flavor, just get this, it won't disappoint.
This is legit banana flavor! It is pure organic banana flavor, not fake or chemical like some banana candies. I love using this extract to flavor baked goods, but it also shines in drinks. In comparison to flavoring syrups that contain a lot of sugar, they gives excellent flavor without added sugar. And a little bit goes a long way since the extract is strong.
This comes in a dark glass jar (the dark glass helps to preserve the flavor) and it is fully sealed for quality and freshness. Given the quality and that it’s organic, I think this is an excellent value. While I expect this to last a long time, I will buy again when I need more!
This brand never disappoints me. This banana extract taste exactly like banana without the thickness from banana. It is perfect for making food and drinks that you want the banana flavor for but without changing the texture. I tried making a cup of hot banana latte by adding a few drops to a cup of latte. It only takes a few drops to flavor entire cup of coffee. The banana flavor is very strong. It tastes like the actual fruit rather than a fake chemically flavor. As with most of their product, they use alcohol to extract to flavor, so you might need to keep that in mind depending on what you need.
This bottle arrived well sealed and the extract was fresh. Unlike many extracts that have an artificial banana fragrance, this one smells just like real bananas. Banana is one of the most notoriously popular scent attractants for carp fishing and I use a tablespoon of this extract when mixing a gallon of packbait for a strong scented attractant, which I then pack onto a spring method feeder. This extract comes in a nice glass bottle. I don't ordinarily use extracts besides vanilla in baking, but this extract smells so nice, I may experiment with making a banana flavored frosting.

This banana extract is also very good quality. It has a very strong banana flavor, so a little goes a long way.
This is good to use in cookies, cake, or other dishes where you want a bit extra banana flavor.
Note that the bottle has no dropper or anything and is kind of hard to pour a precise amount out of without it running down the lip. I suggest using some kind of dropper or syringe if you want to have accurate dispensing.
This a standard sized glass bottle of extract. It is very potent so a little will go a long way. I ordered as I typically make banana and walnut loaf once a week and I wanted to see if this extract would further elevate the taste. The taste of the extract on it's own is very strong but also has a sweetness to it even though there is no added sugars. It's likely from the alcohol content which is there to help preserve it. I will report back once I have baked my banana nut loaf, but so far I am happy with this extract.
Taste SO GOOD. I put a small amount in my matcha’s to mimic the Starbucks matcha’s and it’s not exactly the same but so similar I love it.

This natural banana extract is a great addition when used in baking. I found that it needed some time to cook off the alcohol. As opposed to adding it to something directly like yogurt. It has a strong banana flavor and profile. It comes concentrated in a 2oz bottle and is made with organic bananas. I think it is a good value. You do not need much to get that ripe banana flavor.

The screw cap on the Harvest Moon Delights Natural Banana Extract was tightly sealed with thick plastic, but there was no internal seal on the bottle.
It has a pleasantly sweet banana scent. It smells so good that my wife thought it was an essential oil when I first opened it.
The banana flavor very strong straight from the bottle with a sharp alcohol taste, similar to vanilla extract. Added to food though, the sharpness disappears and the banana flavor really comes through. I stirred just a few drops into a bowl of vanilla ice cream and it tasted just like banana pudding. It was delicious.
I make a lot of banana bread and muffins. I substituted this banana extract for vanilla in my muffin recipe for an extra kick of banana flavor. It tasted good and worked well, but didn't add as much banana flavor as I expected when compared to my normal muffins that use vanilla. I think I will save the extract for recipes that don't already have a lot of actual banana in them.
This extract is intensely flavored of banana and can really bring that flavor forward in muffins or cakes. A little goes a long way, especially in non baked preparations like puddings and homemade yogurt, so you might have to experiment a bit. Made with organic bananas which is a big plus. A truly unique extract.

A word of caution though: this extract is very highly concentrated. To taste test it, I added half a teaspoon to a fresh batch of vanilla ice cream, and the resulting banana flavor was almost too much for me. It’s delicious, don’t get me wrong, but be very careful when adding it to anything. Add a little too much and the flavor can easily become overwhelming.

Okay, this company continues to amaze me due to the fact that it mostly nails hard-to-replicate flavors to perfection. This is the best banana extract I have ever tried, and it lacks all the bitterness and stale flavor that the others have sadly had. Plus, the aroma is remarkably strong which can be a good attribute for arts and crafters out there. Definitely recommended, this is impressive!
